Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church will hold its second annual Winter Festival on Sunday, with great food and sky-high fun.

A pilot will take participants on helicopter rides from 3 to 5 p.m. for an aerial view of Godwin Boulevard. Barry Cole, one of the deacons on the church’s fellowship committee, said there were roughly 100 people in line last year, and that those that didn’t get the chance to ride before the sun went down last year will have preference on Sunday.

“If they didn’t get a helicopter ride last year, (then) they’ll be first in line this year,” Cole said.

Seven bushels of oysters will be served around 5 p.m., followed by barbecue pork and chicken, hot cider and sides, all for free. Participants can save their money for a purchase at the church’s living Christmas tree lot instead.

Families will enjoy yard games and live music among friends and neighbors. More than 300 people came out to last year’s Winter Festival, and this year is expected to draw just as big of a crowd, according to Communications Coordinator Brittany Payton.

“We try to do a lot of events for the community at large. We’ve got the property and resources, and we enjoy showing hospitality,” Payton said.
