City officials and clients joined Edward Jones financial advisers and office staff on Nov. 2 to cut the ribbon on a recently relocated branch in North Suffolk.

This Edward Jones branch had been in operation in the same building as Bradshaw Dentistry at 5501 Bennetts Pasture Road for more than a decade. On Aug. 1, the branch reopened next door in the new BLR Professional Building, alongside other tenants such as ProMedia Video Services, the Stitch Please yarn arts store and the Embroidery and Print House.

“Great people have embraced this facility, and I think it’s just a testament to what could be done and what can be done,” said Councilman Roger Fawcett.

Financial Adviser Amy Tucker works with Senior Branch Office Administrator Tina Tapley to assist clients in the 1,360-square-foot space, including expanded conference space compared to their previous office.

Their goal is to help people plan for retirement, save for college and otherwise safeguard their financial futures, both for themselves and their loved ones.

“We want to make sure people are educated about finances so they can make good decisions,” Tucker said.

Edward Jones is also committed to empowering women with the knowledge and support that they need to secure financial safety and independence. Mayor Linda T. Johnson understands what that takes, and she commended Tucker and her staff in their efforts to empower women, whether they’re clients or financial advisers themselves.

“We congratulate you for investing in our city and for believing in us,” Johnson told the branch at the ceremony. “We know that you are going to be a success.”
