Willie E. Cooper Jr., 86, of Roland Street, Suffolk, transitioned Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at his residence. He was the son of the late Lillian Ward Cooper and Willie Eugene Cooper Sr. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail R. Cooper.

Willie retired from Pilot Freight Trucking after numerous years of faithful and dedicated service. He was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Elder Dr. Rose M. Cooper, of Suffolk; daughter, Angela Mingga (Larry), of Suffolk; six sons, Rodney Cooper, of Smithfield, Eugene Cooper, of New York; Joe Willie, Timothy B. Warren (Theresa), of Portsmouth, Kenneth M. Warren (Doris), of Snellsville, Ga., and Docky Warren of Virginia Beach; 18 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be at noon, Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Bishop Carlton Upton Sr. will deliver the message of comfort. He will be entombed in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
