A Suffolk woman was arrested Friday on numerous charges including crimes against nature.
Christina Danielle Patterson, 42, was arrested on six counts of crimes against nature — bestiality/carnally know any brute animal, and six counts of animal cruelty, according to a city press release.
The investigation began on July 31, 2017, at a residence she shared with her husband, Richard Allen Patterson, 47, in the 2400 block of Freeman Mill Road.
The search warrant involving Richard Patterson’s business, Imperial K-9 LLC, was executed by the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. A subsequent search of computers from the residence revealed videos of the couple engaged in acts of bestiality with a dog, according to the city press release.
The Suffolk Police Department then investigated the bestiality charges.
Richard Patterson is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail on federal charges. Any charges against him on a state level related to these incidents will not move forward until after his federal process has been completed, the release states.
Christina Patterson is now also in custody at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
Richard Patterson awaits sentencing in federal court on possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and obstruction of justice.
In July, Christina Patterson was sentenced to 12 months in prison and six months of house arrest for helping her husband possess firearms after he was convicted of a felony and attempting to obstruct the investigation against him.
