The Lady Warriors field hockey team took the 2018 city title with a win over King’s Fork High School Wednesday evening.

In a week’s span, the Nansemond River High School field hockey team defeated both rival teams. Last week, Nansemond River got a 2-1 win over Lakeland High School, and Wednesday, NRHS got a 6-0 win over King’s Fork.

Nansemond River continues to keep rolling at the end of the regular season. They have won their last three games, and Coach Allison Dize talked about wanting to peak at the right time. One of the things Nansemond River talked about besides winning in the playoffs is winning the city championship.

King’s Fork has faced some tough matchups as of late and will look to try to get back on track next week. They also get a chance to have an even record in the city when they take on Lakeland High School.

Nansemond River will face another test when they play Hickory High School Oct. 17.
