Lakeland has built significant momentum for its showdown with rival Nansemond River High School Wednesday evening. The two teams scrimmaged each other before the season started, so they are familiar with each other. Lady Warriors Coach Allison Dize mentioned after the scrimmage that Lakeland really challenged them defensively.

However, both teams have played a good number of games and progressed since then. Lakeland has wins under its belt against bigger schools this season and could add Nansemond River to that total as well.

It will be Nansemond River’s first game of the week while the Lady Cavs will be on their third in as many days. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeland.
