Saints football holds the top spot in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II poll.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy is currently 5-0 and off to its best start in the last couple of seasons. In the week five VISAA football poll, NSA came in at No. 1 for Division II.

Coach Mike Biehl is in his third year with the team, and this is the highest ranking they have had under him. Also, 5-0 is the best start under Biehl’s leadership.

Biehl has been consistent in his message this season about taking things one game at a time. The Saints don’t look ahead to any opponent and have played in some tough situations this season. They have played four of their games on short weeks.

As a team, the Saints are averaging 40.6 points per game and have outscored opponents 203-67.
