Audrey Pearce Byrum, 87, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 6, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Bunch and Edgar L. Pearce Sr. and was predeceased by her husband, William Vandie Byrum Jr.

Audrey was a member of West End Baptist Church and the Virginia Teachers Association. She was a home economics teacher for Suffolk Public Schools for 25 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Carole E. Pearce and partner, Susan DelPonte, of State College, Pa., Brenda B. Rickman and husband, Frank, of Franklin, Wanda B. Clark and husband, Jim, of Windsor; son, Frank Byrum and wife, Christine deTriquet, of Suffolk; grandchildren, Paula Connor (Jay), Kelly Frazier (Aaron), Julie Enriquez (Daryl), Rob Rickman (Andrea), Billy Rickman, Jonathan Clark (Becky), Justin Clark (Christina), and Mallory Chappell (Charlie); great-grandchildren Madeline and Caleb Frazier, Kenny Enriquez, Emma and Mia Rickman, Ava Clark, Liam Clark and C.J. Chappell; sister Anne and Marvin Crenshaw; brother Lin Pearce and wife, Mary; and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, in Beaver Hill Cemetery, in Edenton, N.C., by the Rev. David Dillon. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk.
