Honor. Courage. Commitment.

To the editor:
Honor. Courage. Commitment.
Those three words carry a meaning that far outstrips the twenty-two characters that comprise them, especially in Hampton Roads. And, quite frankly, they’re something that’s been missing in Washington for quite a while in the Second Congressional District.
Scott Taylor was elected in 2016 on a promise to show the working folks of the 2nd District what those core values meant. Instead, he’s eschewed them at every turn. From directing his paid staff to help get his indicted former opponent on the ballot, to prioritizing fundraisers in Florida over his constituents, and even (depressingly, for a former US Navy SEAL) demeaning himself and pledging fealty to a man who demands it as a condition to be an elected official in the Republican Party.
But there’s a chance to change that this November. The only people Cmdr. Elaine Luria will show fealty to is the working men and women of the 2nd Congressional District. Elaine will stand up for them, first, last, and always- and will truly bring the meaning of “honor, courage and commitment” back to this district.
