It has been my pleasure to share my reflection on seeds over the past four weeks. I want to encourage you to remember the seeds. Everything starts with a seed. The seed represents fruitful abundance, possessing unlimited possibilities. There are several important items I want you to note from this series on the purpose, provision and potential of seeds.
The seed is essential to the continuing growth of its kind. A single seed can produce offspring that maintain the characteristics of their parent organism. Life is in the seed. With every seed, there is a chance to multiply and increase.
Human beings were created with the evidence that God intended to produce more of His kind in the earth. He placed natural seeds in us with the ability to bring forth more of mankind. He also deposited spiritual seeds in us with the potential to bring forth offspring of His creative power. Chapter 1 of the book of Genesis describes the creation story. It explains that God created all we see today over the span of six days. Genesis records the beginning of life. However, new beginnings are taking place every day, because a seed lives and grows to spread more seeds.
I do not want you to forget that the seed is dormant. In order to awaken and grow the expected produce, the seed must connect with powerful agents in the earth. Seeds seek out what they need to grow. As maturing humans, we should also seek connection with nurturing agents in the environment around us.
The seed needs soil. Our communities represent a place to grow and develop. Rich soil is a great foundation for the potential abundance of fruit. A seed that does not produce is limited by the environment it grows in and the amount of nutrients it receives from the water and the soil.
The seed needs warmth. Our love represents warmth. We demonstrate our desire to see the seeds in our lives grow by the love that we show. It is no wonder that a seed is fertilized in the womb after the act of intimacy. Love warms and provides the right temperature for fruitfulness to manifest.
The seed needs oxygen. I believe the oxygen is the spirit of God. Before man was a living being, he was just a shell. God placed his spirit in the man, and he became a living soul.
The seed needs water. Our words represent water. Speak life, and life will grow and bear fruit.
It does not yet appear what the seed shall be. What is inside the seed will not come to pass without the agents its needs for growth. You may not know what is in the seed, but God, who is the sower and seedsman, knows what is inside the seeds that He made. You should expect that the seed will grow, because it was appointed to grow. Act in faith and expect a harvest with every act of sowing seeds.
Seeds grow in prepared places. Do not forget that God Himself made a garden for the man and the woman before He placed them in it. Gardeners do the same before they place their seeds in the ground. A prepared place is a place that you cultivate and arrange for the expected development of produce. If you want fruit, you must prepare a place for fruit to grow.
You are appointed to grow. The seeds inside of you are waiting to awaken. Remember the seed. Let your prayer be that every seed in your life intended for the growth and development of good fruit will receive the water, soil, warmth and oxygen it needs for fruitful abundance that will continue producing after its kind.
