Mollie George Jordan

Mollie George Jordan was born in Nansemond County, Va. on Nov. 4, 1924 to the late Tipney Boaz Jordan Sr. and Amy Walker Jordan.  God called her home on Thursday, July 26, 2018.  Mollie was preceded in death by four brothers, Tipney Jordan Jr., Herbert Jordan, Claud Jordan and Gerald Jordan; five sisters, Beatrice Hudson, Mary Spears, Dollie Wright, Amy Brown and Lealer Manley, and son Freddie Jordan.

Mollie attended East Suffolk High School and later graduated from Suffolk Beauty School.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Healing Chapel Baptist Church.

Mollie is survived by two sons, Charles Jordan (Barbara), Jimmie Jordan (Irene) and one daughter, Phyllis Johnson; two brothers, David Jordan Sr. and Joseph Jordan (Peggy); one sister, Sylvia Battle; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, friends and loved ones.

Mrs. Jordan’s visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 at Healing Chapel Baptist Church and she will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
