Eula Manley Marshall and James Oscar Banks recently announced their engagement.

Marshall is the daughter of the late Susie Bell Manley and Alex Manley, of Suffolk. She graduated from Roanoke Theological Seminary and received a Master of Divinity. She is the designated pastor of St. Luke United Church of Christ.

Banks is the son of the late Earnest Edward Banks and Maude Copeland Banks, of Suffolk. He is a retired major of the U.S. Army. He is the superintendent of Sunday school at Laurel Hill United Church of Christ.

They both serve on the Commission on Ministry Committee of the Eastern Virginia Association.

The couple plans an Aug. 11 wedding in Suffolk.
