The Golden Fold of Suffolk in conjunction with Alpha Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. had its regular session March 28 at the Taylor Bend Family YMCA.
This was the second session of the participants learning the game of chess. Instructors Keith Basil and Clifford Franks applied chess to the everyday life of the young people. In chess, as in life, you have to be able to accept the consequences with each move you decide to make.
The Golden Fold of Suffolk is the youth mentorship program of Alpha Iota Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., an international nonprofit social and civic service organization that has more than 700 chapters with 100,000 members in 14 countries worldwide. Golden Fold of Suffolk serves the greater community by offering community service projects, field trips, college lectures and university tours on the weekends. It serves about 20 students from middle school to graduating seniors in high school.
