King Solomon Carpenter

King Solomon Carpenter, 73, passed away May 3, 2018. He was born in Nansemond County, the son of the late Lawrence Battle Carpenter and Florence Geneva Duck Carpenter Nixon. He was predeceased by his wife, Cynthia Hall. King was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during Vietnam. He later went on to work as a master carpenter.

King is survived by his daughter, Amanda Walters (William); sons, Joseph Spruiell (Jamie), Kevin Hall (Essime), Kenneth Hall (Marissa); grandchildren, Lawrence, Emily, Skilynn, Dustin, Ashlyn, Dillon, Alley, Lexi and Raymond; great-grandchildren, Navaeh, Allysa, Georgia, Layla, Carley, Brianna, Zach and Ryan; sisters, Betty Crumpler (Gerald), Frances Mathias (Lucky); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Franklin VFW at 3385 Beaverdam Road, Franklin, VA 23851. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Franklin VFW or Isle of Wight County Humane Society. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
