The King’s Fork High School boys’ soccer team defeated Great Bridge High School 1-0 Tuesday afternoon.
Zerriq Ortiz scored the goal for King’s Fork. Coach Michel Bile’ felt his team played well as the team moves forward to put itself in position for a playoff spot.
“Our team chemistry showed, and we played really well,” Bile’ said. “The guys went out there and fought hard. I think the win put us one step ahead of where we were.”
With about five more games left, the Bulldogs can clinch a playoff spot soon.
“I am feeling pretty good about where we are,” Bile’ said. “The key will be to stay united. We have lost some close games and those games were tough, but it will help us in the long run. I think we are coming together as a team and we are playing as a team, and that will help us come playoff time.”
King’s Fork will face Grassfield High School at home at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
