Suffolk residents have the chance to slip out of work early and enjoy local food, good drinks and a riverside view at Nosh on the Nansemond from 3 to 7 p.m. this Thursday.

The Rotary Club of Downtown Suffolk will host the event again this year at Constant’s Wharf. Local restaurants will be in attendance to give residents a chance to discover new favorites or savor eats they already love.

Nosh on the Nansemond, along with other events, raise money for the Rotary’s charities fund, which provides grants and scholarships for the community. Numerous nonprofits such as the Cheer Fund, ForKids, Suffolk Literacy Council and the Western Tidewater Free Clinic also benefit from the Rotary Club’s efforts.

The event costs patrons $25 for full access to the food at the event, and 100 percent of proceeds are put towards the charity fund.

Along with food and drinks, patrons will get the chance to enjoy BadDadz, a vocally driven acoustic trio.

Since the event is outdoors, Rotary members were hoping for good weather, and it looks like it will be favorable. The forecast is for a warm day with no rain.
