NR falls to Western Branch

The Nansemond River High School baseball team took a 4-1 loss to Western Branch High School.
Western Branch completed its regular season sweep against the Warriors. After an 11-1 defeat in the first meeting, the Warriors were able to keep it close the second time around but were ultimately unable to get the win.
Daulton Manning, Tristian Williams and Mason Beddingfield handled pitching duties, with Manning taking the loss. Dezmen Howard went 2-3 with an RBI. Jarrett Mayer added a double and scored the only run of the game for the Warriors. Cameron Pittman added a stolen base.
Nansemond River will face Oscar Smith High School on the road at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
