Deep Creek couldn’t keep the Lady Warriors from scoring in the Lady Warriors’ shutout win on Friday.
The Nansemond River High School girls’ soccer team kept applying pressure against Deep Creek High School and scored eight goals in their victory.
Saleena Lynch and Indiah Hunter led the team with two goals apiece. Six Lady Warriors scored goals.
“I feel like as a team we have been playing well together for mostly all of our starters being young,” senior Kayleigh McQueen said. “We still have a lot of work to do to get to where we want to be, but we are talented.”
Nansemond River will face Grassfield High School on the road at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
