Art Forrester recently retired as the service supervisor from Community Electric Cooperative.

Art started with Community Electric Cooperative in 1973 as a lineman trainee and elevated into his final position as a supervisor. Although his passion as a lineman was evident, ultimately Forrester stayed with Community Electric Cooperative because he loved the members, customizing services and the desire to problem solve.

“We are extremely fortunate to have many long tenured, loyal and hardworking team members,” Steve Harmon, president and chief executive officer, stated in a press release. “We are blessed to have an experienced, professional and godly man such as Art. We celebrate Art’s career and thank him for his tenure, service and accomplishments.”

A celebration was held on March 27 honoring Forrester’s 45 years of service, with his family, friends, customers and co-workers in attendance.

Forrester has many passions and hobbies that he is looking to spend more time doing, like spending time with his family, camping, skiing, canoeing and real estate.

Headquartered in Windsor, Community Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit, member-owned energy provider that serves nearly 11,000 homes, farms and businesses in the counties of Isle of Wight, Southampton, Surry and Sussex and the city of Suffolk.
