Senior James Hatton was selected to the Class 4 All-State team.
In his last high school basketball season, Hatton collected a lot of individual accolades. Second team All-State is his most recent accomplishment. During his senior season, he was both a first team All-District and All-Region selection.
With his All-State selection, Hatton is the only Suffolk boys’ basketball player to make that list this year and is the third total selection at King’s Fork this season. Hatton was the leading scorer for a Bulldogs team that finished in the top half of the Southeastern District, which qualified them for a home game in the playoffs.
He played this season under new coach Rick Hite and believes Hite helped him take his game to another level. It was clear to see Hatton took his game to the next level last season after finishing as a second team All-Region selection as a junior last season. He increased his averages in points, rebounds and assists.
“Feels so great to see all of my hard work finally paying off,” he said. “I felt like I shook a lot of heads this season.”
Hatton is currently still going through the recruiting process and hopes to make a decision soon on his future.
