The Saints baseball team took an 8-1 loss to St. Christopher’s School.
The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy baseball team hosted St. Christopher in a non-conference matchup Tuesday afternoon. After an error in the first inning, St. Christopher took a 1-0 lead after one inning of play. NSA did not get on the board until the fifth inning, when Nic Psimas scored the only run for the Saints. The Saints allowed seven runs between the fifth and seventh innings. Psimas was also the losing pitcher and is 2-1 on the season.
St. Christopher’s is a tough team that played in the state championship last season, so NSA hosted a formidable opponent. The Saints couldn’t get the big hits or pitches they needed to maintain momentum. They will face Isle of Wight Academy on the road at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
