A construction worker was injured in an industrial accident Thursday afternoon at the Aldi construction site in the 1900 block of North Main Street.

The construction worker, an adult male, suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, according to a city press release. He was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.

The accident happened at 2:39 p.m., the press release stated.

One lane of North Main Street near the site was closed to allow the staging of emergency vehicles.
