Suffolk police have arrested a 19-year-old Portsmouth man on charges that he possessed a firearm on school property on Jan. 12.

Daquan Antonio Wynn, 19, was arrested Wednesday on charges including possessing a firearm on school property and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to a city press release.

The arrest follows an investigation into social media posts that included video of several juveniles possessing firearms and marijuana while in a vehicle on school property, the press release stated.

The incident occurred on the evening of Jan. 12 in the parking lot of Lakeland High School, the press release stated.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed, the press release stated.

City spokeswoman Diana Klink said this case does not relate to more recent threats against local schools, including Lakeland. Those investigations remain ongoing.
