Man charged in Suffolk woman’s death

A Portsmouth man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the Tuesday shooting death of a Suffolk woman.
Jarvis L. Deloatch, 35, of the 1400 block of Gort Court, Portsmouth, also is charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to a press release from the Portsmouth Police Department.
Keytondra M. Wilson, 22, died in the shooting.
Deloatch was arrested just off Interstate 95 in North Carolina by members of the Portsmouth Police Department Fugitive Apprehension Unit in conjunction with North Carolina State Police.
Wilson was shot just before 3 p.m. at the intersection of Des Moines Avenue and Portsmouth Boulevard. She suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the press release.
