Crews are working to build more housing opportunities for renters in North Suffolk.
Kotarides Developers began construction of Clairmont at Harbourview Station on Harbour View Boulevard in the fall and is about 25 percent complete as of Friday, according to Project Manager Jim Marquette.
The first 36 to 72 units will be finished and available for lease this summer, along with the property’s clubhouse.
“Those will open up and people will be able to move in, then we’ll get building by building done around the site and finish around the first quarter of 2019,” Marquette said.
The 276 planned units will be a mixture of one to three bedrooms up to about 1,350 square feet. Each luxury apartment features open-concept floor plans that are furnished with stainless-steel appliances and other modern conveniences.
“They’re built with quality finishes, and they’re going to be top-market,” Marquette said.
The residential community will offer a resort-style pool for residents to enjoy. There will be a 24-hour fitness center, and the clubhouse will have multiple lounges for billiards, movies and more.
The community is both dog- and kid-friendly, with a fenced dog park and a playground for families.
Marquette said the location is prime for new residents. Convenient interstate access leads to an expanding retail market in walking distance of the development.
“You have almost everything you need within a walkable area that’s growing rapidly,” he said. “Residents can walk down the breezeway to restaurants, movie theaters and grocery stores. “It has a more urban feel, but it still maintains a suburban feeling by being tucked into that Harbour View area of homes.”
