A travel ball team based out of Suffolk is looking to add more players for the coming year.

The Tidewater Tigers are looking to restart its 10U travel program. The team is coached by Robert Tew and has had numerous successful athletes come through the program, most notably Jarrett Henderson and Andrew Riddick, who are Suffolk athletes that play for Norfolk State University. Other athletes like Robby Tew and Chris Allen will be attending college next year.

“Tidewater Tigers Baseball is a travel baseball program geared for the baseball player who aspires to compete at the high school varsity, college and beyond,” Tew said. “We pride ourselves on developing student athletes academically, socially and athletically.”

The Tidewater Tiger Baseball team competes at the 10U level. They are comprised mostly of families from Suffolk but also have some players from the surrounding areas. They will participate in tournaments sanctioned by AAU, USSSA, Nations and Top Gun and have future plans to take the teams to Cooperstown, N.Y. as well as the Ripken Experience to compete against teams from all over the country.

Currently, the athletes are in their strength and conditioning session of the year. They will be entering their spring training session in late February or early March and have room for two to three players.
