Clara A. Reid, 84, of Pembroke Avenue, Norfolk, transitioned Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Rebecca Skeeter Reid and Admon Reid.

She was a graduate of St. Paul’s Polytechnic Institute and George Washington University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and Master of Arts degree in education. She also received numerous certificates as a reading specialist. She retired in 1977 from D.C. Public Schools.

She is survived by her sister, Vivian Jubray, of Suffolk; brother, Fulcher Reid (Ina), of Chesapeake; loving goddaughter, DaShea Collins; devoted niece, Veronica Jubray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at noon, Feb. 3, 2018, at Mt. Ararat Christian Church, 1860 Airport Road, Suffolk. The Rev. Dr. H.H. Murrill will deliver the eulogy. She will be entombed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
