Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and -operated chain of hair salons in the country, is kicking off the 19th year of its philanthropic Share-A-Haircut campaign. Since 1999, the Share-A-Haircut program has donated more than 2.28 million free haircut certificates valued at nearly $37.5 million to various causes. This February’s campaign will take place Feb. 5-6 with the goal of giving thousands of haircuts to the homeless.
For every haircut purchased on Feb. 5 and Feb. 6, a free haircut certificate will be donated back to a homeless adult or child in the community of one of Hair Cuttery’s nearly 900 salons. To distribute the certificates to those in need, Hair Cuttery is partnering with local shelters and community organizations. This February alone, Hair Cuttery hopes to reach thousands of homeless people in the neighborhoods it serves.
“Launching our 19th year of the Share-A-Haircut program speaks volumes about the commitment of our guests, communities and salon professionals to this cause,” said Dennis Ratner, founder and chief executive officer of Hair Cuttery. “This campaign allows those less fortunate to experience the simple but impactful act of self-love and pampering through a haircut.”
Hair Cuttery has an established history of charitable giving, supporting a range of local and national causes, including St. Baldrick’s Foundation, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Girls on the Run and The National Network to End Domestic Violence.
