Jeanette Hobbs Williams

Jeanette Hobbs Williams, of Suffolk, passed away Jan. 28, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Suffolk and graduated from Suffolk High School. She was the daughter of the late George Abel Hobbs and Carrie Ward Hobbs. She was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Paige Williams, and her three brothers, George Earl Hobbs, Oma Ward Hobbs and William Staley Hobbs.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed painting and spending time on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She was a special and caring mom, grandmomma and “GiGi” to her family.
She is survived by her son, Richard Earl Williams, and daughter-in-law, Dianne Duke Williams; grandson, Mason Curtis Williams and his wife, Victoria Lynn Williams; granddaughter, Janna Rae Williams; great-grandson, Dawson Richard Williams, and soon-to-be-born great-grandson, Kaydenn Lee Williams; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Susan Judkins, Home Instead Senior Care, and Sentara Health and Home Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, with Pastor Thurman Hayes Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Suffolk Building Fund, 237 N. Main St., Suffolk, VA 23434.
