Ethel T. Pierce

Ethel T. Pierce, 76, of Mt. Lebanon Avenue, Suffolk, transitioned Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy and Roy Townsell.

She attended East Suffolk High School and retired after 30-plus years at Smithfield Packing Company. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, William Pierce, of Suffolk; four daughters, Debbie Jones (Calvin), of Smithfield, Tracey Anderson, of Suffolk, Robin Townsend, of Chesapeake, and Kelly Reese, of Portsmouth; two sons, Larry Townsend (Lisa), of Newport News, and Joshua Townsend (Nilza), of Suffolk; two sisters, Annie Mann and Deloris Goodwin, both of Suffolk; brothers, Robert Townsell (Margaret), of Suffolk, and Earl Townsend, of Jacksonville, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Queenie Townsend; three brothers-in-law, George Pierce (Marie), James Pierce (Janice) and John Pierce (Charlome); several nephews, nieces, cousins and family.

A celebration of life will be held at noon, Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 8300 Crittenden Road. Minister Stanley Eley will deliver the eulogy. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
