King’s Fork High School girls’ basketball team improved to 5-0 on Thursday.
The Lady Bulldogs got the home win against Western Branch High School. Nylah Young led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with 21 points to help them defeat the Lady Bruins 64-34. Camary Harris also added 16 points. King’s Fork had three players score in double figures Thursday night.
King’s Fork displayed stifling defense, as they did not allow anyone from Western Branch to score in double figures. Harris and Young form a formidable one-two punch for the Lady Bulldogs, with Harris being the outside presence and Young being the inside presence. They also have skilled shooters sprinkled around the perimeter that other teams have to account for.
The Lady Bulldogs will play in the King’s Fork-hosted showcase at 6:30 p.m. Saturday against Norview High School. On Tuesday, King’s Fork will resume district play against Oscar Smith High School on the road at 7 p.m.
