Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

Kaylah Brown, senior, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ basketball: Brown had 17 points to help the Lady Saints to their first win against Cape Henry Collegiate.

Nylah Young, junior, King’s Fork High School girls’ basketball: Young had 23 points and 13 rebounds in the Lady Bulldogs win over Indian River High School.

Kiemari Artis, sophomore, Lakeland High School boys’ basketball: Artis scored 23 points for Lakeland in their season opener against Hickory High School.
