Post opens TPMG practice in Suffolk

Dr. Ron Post has joined the Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group and opened TPMG General Surgery at Suffolk.
“Starting this new chapter of my career is part of a long-term plan for me,” Post said. “Suffolk is a great community. Everyone I have met has been incredibly welcoming and has made my choice to start my new practice here all that much easier.”
Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Post studied biology and earned his medical degree from Georgetown University.
He completed his general surgery residencies at Nassau County Medical Center/SUNY Stonybrook Medical School and North Shore University Hospital/New York University Medical School, where he served as chief resident.
Post served in the U.S. Air Force, including as a general surgeon at Langley Air Force Base Hospital in Hampton; as surgical element team chief at the Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center; and as surgical element team chief at a forward operating base in Kuwait during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Post practiced general surgery in the Newport News area for more than 15 years before joining TPMG and opening his practice in Suffolk.
He is also a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and was a previous board member of Pink Perseverance, a nonprofit organization for breast cancer awareness and education. He was also an assistant professor on the clinical staff for surgery at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine.
