Man dies in crash

A Suffolk man died Sunday after Virginia State Police say he was struck by a woman who was driving under the influence.
Daniel Carl Dill, 29, of the 100 block of Kennet Drive in Suffolk, died the day after the crash. According to a press release from Sgt. Michelle Anaya of the Virginia State Police, Dill was driving eastbound on Interstate 264 just west of Birdneck Road about 2:07 a.m. Nov. 4 in a 2009 Mazda when he was struck by a 2011 Cadillac driven by Melissa Hancock, 25, of the 3400 block of Hunters Chase Drive in Virginia Beach. The Cadillac was traveling in the wrong direction, Anaya stated.
Hancock was charged and arrested with driving under the influence maiming and driving the wrong way. She was taken to Virginia Beach Jail, where she received no bond, according to Anaya. The case will be reviewed by the Commonwealth’s Attorney for additional charges.
