Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s field hockey team placed four players on the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools all-conference team.
Lauren Meyers and Sarah Christiansen earned first team honors, while Morgan Morrell and Sam Williams earned second team honors.
NSA finished up its play in the TCIS Wednesday with a loss to Cape Henry Collegiate in the semifinals of the conference tournament. However, the Lady Saints’ season is not over. They will start state tournament play next week.
Along with placing four on the all-conference teams, NSA also won the Betty Jean Riddick Sportsmanship award. It shows how much first-year coach Shelby Bourn prioritizes sportsmanship as well as the NSA athletics community.
“All the accolades are awesome,” Bourn said. “They all worked so hard this year, and everyone deserves it. It is also great receiving the Betty Jean Riddick Sportsmanship award.”
NSA currently sits at 10-4-1.
