To the editor:

Kids need to be supervised more. Parents need to watch what their kids are doing on the Internet so situations like the recent threat to John Yeates Middle School via social media do not occur.

Kids need to be taught that they cannot just say anything on the Internet without suffering some type of consequences. Even if it was a joke, such threats are not something anyone should play about.

People saw the post and reacted to what the kid said. Kids need to learn that making threats like this on the Internet is not funny.
