Please vote, but ‘vote intelligently’

To the editor:
Regardless of who wins, we will have a “good man” with a nice family in office.
Since becoming aware of and interested in political issues, I have never voted for the man. The man simply perpetuates the policies of his party.
I have read that the majority of Virginians are conservative. Perhaps this explains our Republican majority in the General Assembly. So why would a conservative vote for a liberal candidate? If he does, he must be voting for the man and not the policies.
While this may sound noble, the governorship should be about those values and policies we want to represent our commonwealth.
I encourage everyone to vote, but vote intelligently.
