Local real estate and industry-related professionals raised their glasses in support of helping others during the Hampton Roads Realtors Association’s annual wine and cheese social and food drive.
Through the Oct. 18 event, the association collected more than 363 pounds of nonperishable food, plus monetary donations, for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
Hundreds of the organization’s Realtor and affiliate members gathered at HRRA headquarters in Chesapeake for the afternoon of wine and cheese sampling, networking and the opportunity to share concerns about homeownership and property rights issues with state and local legislators.
Second-District Congressman Scott Taylor shared legislative updates and entertained questions from the crowd. Also in attendance were Congressman Bobby Scott (3rd District), Del. Chris Stolle (83rd District), Sen. Bill DeSteph (8th District), Del. Rocky Holcomb (85th District), Del. Stephen Heretick (79th Distict), Portsmouth Mayor John Rowe, Virginia Beach Sheriff Ken Stolle and Andrew Petrey, a representative from Del. Glenn Davis’ (84th District) office.
The event was presented by HRRA’s Affiliates Council.
