In the new Virginia High School League top 20 regional rankings, the Bulldogs remain in the top three.
King’s Fork High School is currently off to its best start in school history at 6-1. After being in the top three of the VHSL regional rankings last week, they remain there this week as well. They sit at third in the 4A region behind Lafayette High School and Deep Creek High School, respectively. If the playoffs started today, the Bulldogs would almost certainly have one home game.
Nansemond River High School sits at No. 4 in the 5A region of the rankings with a 4-3 record. If the playoffs started now for the Warriors, they likely would also have at least one home game.
Lakeland High School is ranked seventh in 3A regional rankings, which is three spots up from their previous ranking at No. 10 last week. Getting a win last week over Grassfield High School helped the Cavs, as Grassfield is a 6A school and the Cavs are a 3A school.
Lakeland and King’s Fork will clash this Friday in an intense game, while Nansemond River will face Deep Creek High School. A win by the Bulldogs and a Nansemond River win could potentially push King’s Fork into the top two of the 4A rankings.
