Player of the week nominees

Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:
- Sam Dunn, senior, King’s Fork High School football — Dunn caught a 55-yard touchdown pass and returned a fumble 65 yards for a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ win over Hickory High School.
- Kevin Johnson, junior, Nansemond River High School football — Johnson caught the go-ahead 42-yard touchdown reception that gave the Warriors the win over rival Lakeland High School.
- Alex Kinsey, senior, Lakeland High School field hockey — Kinsey scored the game-winning goal for the Lady Cavs in a 2-1 win over Western Branch High School.
- Ehron Knight, junior, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy football — Knight had 10-plus tackles on defense to go along with 100 receiving yards and the go-ahead touchdown to give NSA its first win of the season.
