Vanessa Ann Williams, 49, was born Oct. 18, 1967, in Suffolk to Josh Mizell and Elsie Mae Washington.

A native of Suffolk, Vanessa grew up in Mizell Town and attended Booker T. Washington High School. After completing high school, she went on to graduate from Stop Organization Vocational Center as a personal care aide.

She was employed by Loving Care Home Health at her time of death.

Vanessa leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jarmaine Williams; three sons, Donta Mizell (Christa), Laquan Scott and Daquan Scott (Satinee); a stepdaughter, Jarnee Williams; four sisters, Tammy Major, Estelle Lassiter (Donald), Dinita Mizell- Cheetum (Roscoe) and Ruth Perry (Lonnie); four brothers, Thomas Staggs (Bromodeen), Lester Staggs, Felix Staggs (Florence) and Josh Mizell; 13 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A funeral will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at New Paul’s Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance, and she will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
