A South Carolina man died in a crash on Interstate 664 on Tuesday, the Virginia State Police said.

Charles Kevin Corroon, 61, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., was the driver of the 2014 Dodge Ram that was involved in the crash, spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya stated in a press release.

The crash occurred at 9:58 p.m. at the entrance ramp from College Drive. The Ram was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes onto the ramp and collided head-on with a 2012 Nissan Rouge, according to the press release. Corroon died at the scene.

The driver and occupant of the Nissan were transported with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Corroon was not wearing his safety belt, Anaya said. The determination of whether speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash is still ongoing.
