A 222-home development on Godwin Boulevard is making steady progress.
The Planters Station neighborhood is being developed by Planters Station LLC, with Etheridge Construction building the homes near the intersection of Godwin Boulevard and Kings Fork Road, and adjacent to King’s Fork High School.
Planters Station LLC owner Scott Overton said the model center is expected to be open to the public next month. The first of five construction phases will have up to 52 homes available for sale once terms have been reached with the city.
“We’re patiently working through the process with the city of Suffolk so we can start selling homes,” Overton said.
The homes will range from about 2,000 to 3,000 square feet, each with three to five bedrooms and with prices starting in the high $200,000s. Common areas such as playgrounds are planned throughout the development, along with a homeowners’ association.
Venture Realty Group is advertising the 16 acres of commercial development land at the entrance of Planters Station.
“If opportunities come along, you’ll start to see that develop,” Overton said.
