Mary Dean Gray, 74, passed away July 6, 2017. She was born in Nansemond County, the daughter of the late Russell Dean Nichols and Mary Lou Guyton Nichols. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Robert Russell Gray Sr. and her grandson, Steven Turner. She formerly worked at First Baptist Day Care and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Robin Lynne Turner and Deanna Marie Gray; son, Robert Russell Gray Jr.; grandchildren, Tiffany Dawn Gray, Brittany Lynne Turner, Robert Russell Gray III, Freedom Elizabeth Gray and Myranda Rae Green; great-grandchildren, Mason Byrum and Sara Cramer; brother, Russell David Nichols; and loving pet, Sissy girl.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Chaplain Roland Griggs officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.
