Daijah Norris represents Nansemond River High School’s girls’ soccer team as the only member of the 5A All-State team.

Nansemond River had a successful year, losing only two games on the season. The Lady Warriors became the PenSouth champions and were one game away from clinching a bid to the 5A state tournament. They made history by collecting the most wins in a season this year.

Norris, the PenSouth Player of the Year, was placed on the 5A All-State second team after a strong season. It was evident that it was going to be hard to leave Norris off of either team, considering the impact she has had on the Lady Warriors.

One of her goals this year was to come in and leave her mark. She wanted the Player of the Year award and got that. Now her high school career will be complete with an All-State selection.

Norris will now continue her soccer career at Delaware State University on an academic and athletic scholarship. She recently graduated with honors from Nansemond River and is looking to do big things in the MEAC Conference.

This season Norris was an All-State, All-Region and All-Conference performer.
