Leroy Scott

Leroy “Pig” Scott entered into eternal slumber on Sunday, June 11, 2017. He was born on April 8, 1936, to the late Sam Scott Sr. and Lizzie Parham-Scott.

A native of Suffolk, he attended Suffolk Public Schools and later retired from Planters (Kraft Foods).

Leroy was a lifelong member of Balm of Gilead Missionary Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lizzie Boone-Scott; three daughters, Wendy Franklin, Annette “Ann” Scott and Janice Scott-Diallo; and six brothers.

Leroy leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Liz Scott and Tracey Scott; two sons, Leroy Scott Jr. and Wayne Scott; godson, Lamont Brinkley; one brother, Sam Scott (Peggy); two sisters, Lois Meggie and Pearlie Mae Stallings (Thomas); two brothers-in-law, Dallas Boone and Leslie Boone; sisters-in-law, Janice Boone, Elaine Scott, Deloris Scott, Mae Scott and Bernice Scott; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Scott’s visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home chapel, and he will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
