King’s Fork High School’s girls’ soccer team defeated Smithfield High School Monday in the first round of the 4A East regional tournament.

Senior Cydney Nichols scored all four goals for the Lady Bulldogs in their 4-1 win. Hannah Marston added two assists. The defense that was led by Skylar Wall, Ashley Bido and Marston was well organized after giving up Smithfield’s only goal nine minutes in.

With the few opportunities Smithfield created, goalie Jordan Fransee erased them. The holiday humidity was tough for all teams playing Monday, but the Lady Bulldogs were still able to compete hard.
