Four seniors from the King’s Fork High School football team will continue their careers in college after they had signings recently.

Austin Williams has accepted an athletic and academic scholarship to attend Bluefield College. Vic Robinson will play at Randolph-Macon College. Ron Newsome and Wyatt Stuck will play at North Carolina Wesleyan.

Williams, an offensive lineman, is looking forward to his transition to the next level. Though Bluefield is far away from Suffolk, he has family a couple of hours away from the school. He feels at home at the school.

“The coaching staff is very experienced, and I can tell they are really trying to change the football culture up there,” Williams said.

Williams also had interest from other schools before he suffered an injury during his senior year. He has plans to come into camp in August and quickly learn his playbook and compete hard so he can earn a starting spot. He will major in criminal justice.

Robinson liked the coaching staff when he visited RMC.

“They were very genuine with me and kept it honest with me throughout the process,” Robinson said. “I also liked the feel of the school and the location. They have a championship program that I want to be a part of.”

The senior also admits that his senior year was a bit of an adjustment getting used to a new coaching staff, but he enjoyed it. At the next level, he wants to come in and establish himself as a dominant force for the program. He will major in computer engineering or pre-engineering.

Newsome and Stuck will continue to be teammates at NC Wesleyan. Newsome said he feels he can thrive at NC Wesleyan on and off the field. They went 5-4 as a team last year. Newsome will major in business management.

Stuck liked the fact that they didn’t try to sell them on their school. He said they told him what they were about, and he decided he wanted to be a part of that. In his first year, he intends to learn as much as he can about playing in college. He also wants to excel academically, with plans to major in computer science.

Bulldogs coach Scottie Littles is happy for his players and is glad they are now in position to advance their education.
