Police investigate robbery

Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place early Tuesday morning at a gas station in North Suffolk.
The robbery was reported at 7:13 a.m. and happened at the Shell gas station in the 3700 block of Bridge Road, according to a city press release.
Preliminary investigation found a white male entered the business, displayed a handgun and took an undetermined amount of cash from the register, according to the release. He fled on foot following the incident, walking toward the Walgreens across the street.
He wore a mask over his face, a dark hooded jacket, khaki pants, white socks and dark shoes, according to the press release. He has a distinctive gait and stance.
Police believe he may be the same individual who has recently committed similar offenses in other Hampton Roads cities, the press release stated.
No one was injured in the robbery.
