Marvin L. Spring Sr.

Marvin L. Spring Sr., 84, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 12, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Norfolk to the late Myron and Bernice Spring. He attended Maury High and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Marvin was a devoted Catholic, Grand Knight, business owner, leader and faithful family man. His interests were boating, fishing, hunting and being charitable.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jenny; children, Marvin Jr. (Susan), Jeffery, Donna (Tom), Kathleen (Carl); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Myron Jr.; and sister, Molly (Mike).

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Norfolk. A Catholic Mass will be on Friday, May 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Presentation Church, 202 S. Broad St., Suffolk, VA 23434. The burial and reception will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be left for the family at www.woodlawngroup.com.
